A chemical engineer who lives in San Jose, Calif., telephoned me to reply to my recent "How to Outperform China" editorial in Medical Design magazine. He says investing in technology is the only way U.S. companies can compete in the ruthless medical-device manufacturing environment. He points out that laboratories are playing an increasing role in bringing products to market. He also says as Indian doctors who have been working in the U.S. retire and return home to open new clinics, the major pool of consumers will soon live in Asia.

Please read the complete editorial and send us your ideas and comments!
