I can flip-flop on socialized medicine all day. The wealthiest nation on the planet should be able for afford some level of healthcare for all citizens, but at what cost? Then crazy stories like this one come out of the annals of socialized medicine and I’m pretty sure we’re better off without national healthcare.

It appears that British doctors aren’t the slackers the satires from the BBC have led us to believe. In fact, they are quite efficient. So efficient the National Health Service is telling them to slow down. They are treating too many people. So many that the NHS is racking up debts approaching $2.4 billion. The NHS solution? Minimum waiting periods. It’s recommending a 9-week wait for out-patient appointments and 20 weeks for non-urgent operations.
